“It is impossible for me to remember how many days or weeks went by in this way. Time is round, and it rolls quickly.”
One year ago, when I hit the publish button for my first blog, I had butterflies in my belly. It did cross my mind that what if I fail in this?? What if I gain success with this!! Today, let me share with you this blogging journey of mine.
THE WONDERFUL PAST
At that time I had the zeal to do something new (still do)!! Something different.. to challenge me. The thought of having a blog was in my mind for a long time but was terrified of what if I would fail. I didn’t know the ABC’s of blogging. But I took a giant leap of faith and purchased the domain in April…not certain of what will come of it. My first post was published on May 8th, 2017. Since then till now, I was amazed to see the transformation that I went through.
Now, like every blogger has seen ups and downs in their blogging journey, I too had gone through mine. My blogging might be not much in terms of figure, but it had taught me a lot. I am glad that I pushed that Publish button because it changed my life, it gave me a new identity. I am a blogger now(all smiles).
At first, everything was clumsy, all the do’s and dont’s, templates, designing, subscribers, images, posting etc.. and above all writing. I didn’t have a clue at first but later by August 2017 I gradually began to find my voice. My most loved post above all was this. I tried different topics such as this one, this one and this one.
I made some wonderful blogger friends and had collaborated with other bloggers. Here are just a few new experiences and highlights
- Guest Posting
- Being Interviewed
- Got a freelance job
EMBRACING THE FUTURE
Although this is a delayed post (coz I have been traveling)!! But my blogging journey deserved an anniversary post. A lot has been changed since last month. I have switched from WordPress to Wix(a huge time taker, especially for a layman like me who is still learning ways to manage blog). I am still in doubt whether I did it right or not, but I will fight my way out of it. So with this post, I am all ready for the new exciting journey of the second year of blogging. But with growth, there come new challenges and opportunities too. So my fingers are crossed and I hope for the best.
If you are a regular follower, you might have noticed recently that I had changed the layouts and looks of the website. This is all because of huge site redesign with Wix. I lost a lot of data such as the kind and wonderful comments from the readers (this I regret). However, I am trying to make it more user-friendly so that you can easily navigate, moreover, better content. So stay tuned!! Since I am a one women army for all the kinds of stuff to do here in managing the blog or my freelance work or the household chores, I am trying to maintain a good work-life balance. But I must admit, along with my personal growth I have seen my little blog grow. I must say here that I feel grateful for each and every one of you who have supported me throughout my journey. Thanks for inspiring me-motivating me-nurturing me.
For this, I am eternally grateful.
