How to Easily Clean Every Nook of Your Home

Regardless of how boring and time-consuming cleaning is, we all know that it needs to be done often if we want our home not to look like a pigsty. However, this tiresome chore can be made much easier if you know how to do it efficiently because it’s not just about how much you clean but how you clean as well. So, here’s how you can easily clean every little corner of your home.

Oven

To get rid of the grease in the oven, mix five drops of dish wash detergent with five tablespoons of baking soda and four tablespoons of white vinegar. Spread the mixture over the greasy surfaces and let it sit like that for about 15 minutes before cleaning your oven. If you also need to clean the oven glass door, cut a lemon in half, sprinkle some salt on it, and add a few drops a dishwasher liquid. Rub the oven glass with it until it’s clear, and wash it off with water.

Dishwasher sponges

Since they are always wet, dishwasher sponges are an ideal environment for mold and bacteria. Luckily, all you need to do in order to deal with this problem is put them in your microwave and turn it on for five minutes. That way, you will destroy all the mold.

Pet hair

If you need to remove pet hair from your furniture but you don’t have a vacuum cleaner for that, just cut an adhesive tape into pieces, stick it to the surface that has pet hair on it, and remove the hair with the tape. Repeat the process until your furniture is clean.

Mirrors

Water stains, handprints, and traces of soap can make your mirror look ugly, blurry, and dirty. You can make it as shiny as new just by cleaning it with a shaving cream, or if you don’t have it, rub the mirror with one lemon half, leave it for a few minutes, and clean it with water.

Bedroom mattress

First, vacuum your mattress to get rid of all the hair, food crumbs, dust, and dirt. Deodorize your mattress by sprinkling it with baking soda, and let it sit like that for an hour or so. Vacuum it off, let your mattress air out, and it will be ready for you to sleep on it. Keep in mind that it’s very important to clean your mattress thoroughly. However, sometimes this chore is better left to the professionals in mattress cleaning from Sydney, if you’re an Aussie; but if you’re not, you can easily find the same services in your town and make sure your mattress is perfectly clean.

Carpets

No matter how much we try not to, we all like eating in the living room while watching TV. Unfortunately, that’s when accidents happen and before you even notice, there are food or drink stains on your favorite carpet. To clean them, wipe the stains with a cloth, scrape off any residue, and sprinkle the stains with some baking soda or cornstarch. Leave it like that for 15-20 minutes and then just use your vacuum cleaner

Steam iron

Even this essential home appliance can become stained after being used for a long time. To clean it, make a thick layer of salt on a table and put your iron on it. Turn off the steam mode, adjust it to the highest temperature, and leave it on the salt for about five minutes. You’ll be surprised how shiny it will be thanks to nothing but a bit of salt.

TV remote

This is one of the things we forget to clean but really shouldn’t. Your TV remote is a perfect place for germs so the next time you start cleaning your home, don’t forget this tiny part of it. Dip a Q-tip into alcohol to clean between the buttons and use a disinfecting cloth to wipe the outer surface.

Doorknobs

Doorknobs are the first and last things we touch whenever we enter or leave our home, so they tend to accumulate many bacteria. To clean them, rub them with disinfecting wipes or spray some universal cleaner on them and wipe it off with a paper towel.

Cleaning is an essential part of our life, but it doesn’t mean that you have to spend a lot of money and time on it. Do your research on the best ways to clean different parts of your home; with a couple of tricks and a bit of effort, your home will be sparkling clean in no time.
