Crispy Potato Peels | Aloo Khosha Bhaja

Our culture believes in no wastage, particularly in terms of food. Being a Bengali, I have seen my parents to make use of all part of fruits or vegetable even fish to make some mouth-watering dishes that are healthy too.

As the title suggests, today I’ll sharing an easy to make recipe, made from potato skin/peel, that might be known by most of the bengali’s. Potato has become an integral part of Indian kitchen (devoured in several ways) to enhance the taste of the food, however, have you ever thought about potato skin that you throw out in the bin can be consumed too.

If not then do give it a thought!

Potato skin has several health benefits such as, it aids in regulating blood pressure, metabolism, prevention from anemia, full of fiber, and Vitamin B3 which is an excellent strength booster. So first thing first…

Ingredients

2 cups potato peels (soaked in water for few mins and properly washed)

3 tbsp oil

1 tsp khus khus

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tbsp gram flour

1 tsp salt or as per taste

Instructions

Take all the mentioned ingredients along with the potato peels in a mixing bowl.

Mix properly.

The peels must coat properly.

Heat a wok and add oil to it.

As the oil starts smoking, make sure that the flame is set to medium

Drop handful of potato peels in the oil carefully

Fry till crisp.

Serve hot with tea or dal and rice.
